Worth stopping in for. Good quality, tasty food. Nice service. Unique look and feel, and even some unique dishes. Never expected a poke bowl place to have BBQ pork, but it was actually fantastic! They also have acai bowls. Some unique Hawaiian drinks available. The children's dishes are actually very affordable. Pretty clean, but felt like it could be wiped down some more. Tables are pretty, made from natural wood. Walls and decor are unique. I am not a huge fan of the 50-Mills area; I find it all a bit hipster and often overpriced. This place is a nice exception. Utilize the large parking spot behind the building and take the back door if possible because parking off 50 is difficult and stressful. A bit pricey for what you get overall, but that's everything these days.
Five stars because it’s a good enough replication of a Hawaiian menu and I want it to survive. If you’ve visited the islands you’ll find this spot to be a nice nod to Hawaii. They have purportedly good, fresh poke and sashimi; teriyaki chicken; spam musubi; kalua sliders; even butter mochi (Happy New Year food).
But if you’re a kamaaina, I must point out the kalua pork today had a couple fatty pieces and was lacking in smoky flavor, and lacking in salt. Maybe it was less salty because it’s supposed to be served with optional teriyaki sauce and spicy mayo. I tried the spicy mayo out of curiosity and it was okay. The mac salad was made with sweet mayo, like maybe Miracle Whip. The haupia pie lumpia went in the right direction but wasn’t sweet enough. So don’t bring your Hawaiian mom here.
But it’s a nice tropical restaurant for everyone else. There’s a mural of the Hawaiian islands on one wall, and large surfing photos and artwork on the other walls. The tables are beautiful lengthwise cross sections of tree trunks.
Courteous customer service from Mike who did a fine upsell to the deep fried haupia pie when he realized I was from Hawaii. He also suggested I get the less-pricey kalua rice plate so I wouldn’t have to pay extra for my mac salad. I added in limu salad because, hey, I made the drive so I was going to get my Hawaiian food fix and was prepared to pay extra. They do have Hawaiian Sun drinks so I got the guava juice.
Been going to Poke Hana for years. I used to order takeout from them consistently when I lived in Orlando. Their ordering and pickup system is so easy and convenient. Now, I moved a little further out, but whenever I’m in town this is where everyone wants to go. Even my parents love it here and they are the furthest from adventurous when it comes to food. Their poke sushi is better than most sushi restaurants in the area, tbh.
The food was delicious, flavored perfectly. The setting is a relaxing room with plenty of seating. It’s not designed to be an upscale place but rather good food. Service was good with everyone smiling and friendly. There’s parking in the back so no need to worry about where to park. My wife had the diamond head poke while I had the crunchy rice tacos, pork and chicken. I loved both but would go with the chicken over the pork. Preference only.
We went here with a friend after 2 other restaurants nearby were packed with people for date night (Saturday around 7pm). The place looks a bit off the beaten path (somewhat dim lighting and parking is rough), but the food was actually fresh and clean.
I have never had a poké bowl from this area, so I was a little nervous, but I chose a Samurai Salmon bowl (with brown rice), my husband picked the taco trio, and our friend got the same thing I did. Very glad we chose what we did since it tasted great. Metal seats were a bit on the hard side, but it was ok for the quick bite.
The servers were polite and informative, even joked with us about our order. The restaurant was closing soon after we ordered (40ish min), so we didn't get to stay as long as we wanted to. That was okay since the food was satisfying and we needed to walk it off before the drive home.
We would go here again, but finding parking is really a hassle during busy times, so if you don't mind walking and you enjoy poké bowls, give Poke Hana a chance to satisfy your hunger 🙃
Pretty solid place to grab some quick Hawaii food. The tuna poke was amazing and the toppings that came with it paired really well. Only suggestion would be bigger bowls since it's a little hard to eat with everything on top of one another.
I tried the Haole styles poke bowl, REALLY good and fresh, the ingredients were pretty balance and by the end of it you can tasty a bit of spicy. Though the portion was small but it ended being a good personal meal.
Absolutely delicious and affordable! Had the crispy rice taco combo...ordered the salmon, tuna, and the imitation crab. All three were seasoned to perfection and extremely tasty. All the staff were friendly and efficient. Will definitely come back soon. I highly recommend!
